A short contribution to the Transnational Meeting at Rote Flora by a former G20 Prisoner

I went out of prison one month ago. Now I can’t really come to this meeting. Anyway nothing is over, also for me. People are still in jail for the revolt against G20, several investigations are still on the way, a lot of trials will come and the spirit of those days can’t be already over. So, I like to send few words as an individual who did his little part in all of this.
I like to share my viewpoints and I still owe something to everyone who supported me during my prison time. Whatever we share or not the same perspectives about what happened in Hamburg in July and during the following months, let me say that I truly appreciated any kind of support I received from the United We Stand campaign and this helped me out so much in keeping my thoughts fresh and alive. So thank you. Continue reading

Sunday stroll to jail – freedom for all prisoners!

On today’s Sunday (1.10.) 200 solidary people met at S-Bahn station Billwerder/Moorfleet to walk to the prison together and visit our friends, who are being kept imprisoned by the city of Hamburg since the G20 protests. At the prison greetings were read out in DE | EN | FR | ES and other languages via the Free-them-all Soundsystem. Besides, music wishes of the prisoners were played and balloons were released over the prison walls. Spontanously some people decided to take a walk around the prison in order to make our protest also audible from different sides.

Again, the coming week there will be trials against people who were incarcerated over the course of the G20 protests and who are in investigative custody since then. The overall four trials take place on Wednesday (04.10.) and Thursday (05.10.) at the district court Altona and at the district court Sievekingplatz. On Thursday at the district court Altona will also take place the trial against our comrade Riccardo, who was sending us a letter shortly after his arrest.

On both days there will be a manifestation in front of the district court Altona, starting at 8:30 a.m. Solidary supporters are being called to attend the trials in Altona.

Solidarity is a weapon!

Greetings in front of the prison in Billwerder, Okt. 1st 2017

UNITED WE STAND! FREE THEM ALL, NOW!

Hello people,
you in there and you out here.
It’s us again – your friends, your comrades, your companions, your siblings.

You are sitting in there since almost three months, incarcerated behind these huge walls, with unbelievable reasonings and accusations. Most of you don’t own a german passport or have no address of residence accepted by court. All of this seems to be sufficient to be locked up in this deeply racist class society.

Two of our young comrades are held prisoners in jail for juvenile delinquents at the island and are facing partly intensified terms for visitations. They as well can be sure of our full support and solidarity.

Some of you already had their trials or have been sentenced to imprisonment. And also those who are out on probation meanwhile, have gotten unbelievable sentences for peanuts. They are sending you their heartfelt regards. You in there are supposed to suffer as a deterrent.

In Hamburg no one should dare to go out on the streets and oppose against the ruling inhuman circumstances. They want to frighten you and all of us – but they won’t succeed.

As it was so nicely expressed underneath the solidarity picture from Russia to all the G20-prisoners: “Our solidarity is stronger than their thickest prison walls!”

We will be back every first Sunday a month to visit you.

We won’t rest and won’t be silent until all are free!

Once again we brought some of your favorite songs with us. Just write in your letters what you would like to hear, what gives you strength and – how one of you described it – helps you to keep your head up.

Side by side we stand united against their repression.

Today we only hear each other – but

We will see us soon!
Right here!
At court!
Or on the streets!

Free you all!

„These Trials are as political as Trials can be.“ – Campaign Statement on the first G20-Trials on 28th and 29th of August 2017

With accusations that are very obviously politically motivated, the first Trials against supposed criminals in connection with the G20-summit in Hamburg are starting on 28th and 29th of August. The Campaign “United we stand!” calls for Manifestations in front of the Court at ‘Sievekingplatz’ on both of these days.

In the first Trial on 28th of August a young man from the Netherlands is accused at Court for heavy Trespassing, Resistance and Assault. Surprisingly thin is the evidence for this heavy accusations. There are no Videos or Pictures of the Action, just two Cops are supposed to witness the Acts. As there was such an extended Video-Documentation of the Protests against the G20-summit made by the Cops this is pretty unbelievable. Nevertheless is the dutch comrade locked up in Pre-Trial Prison since the beginning of July.

The Accused of the second Trial is a Person with polish Papers . He was detained far away from any Protests against G20 and is held in Pre-Trial Prison since beginning of July. The Accusations against him are very weak – given the construction of the prosecuter, who only assumes that the guy, who also doesn’t show a criminal record, would have later committed a crime.

‘These Trials are as political as Trials can be’ commented Kim König from the campaign ‘United we stand!’ ’The Prosecution seriously claims in front of the whole world, that someone who carries Marbles in a city where a Protest is going on somewhere, automatically is a dangerous criminal. This adventurous Accusation, but also the hindrance of the defence in the Pre-Trial Detention during the Summit as well as the violation of the Rights of the Prisoners in the Prison Billwerder proof the imperative Will of the State for persecution. The State finally wants to present convictions, no matter at what costs. For that purpose the actions of the State seem to follow some kind of criminal law for enemies: Not only the two people on Trial now but many more of those without german papers who where detained during the Summit face such disproportionate Pre-Trial Imprisonment – and almost just them.

Hello to the Prisoners in the Prison Billwerder during the Demonstration on the 3rd of September

UNITED WE STAND!
FREE THEM ALL!

Hello people,
You inside and you outside. It is us again, your siblings, your friends, your comrades.

Since almost 2 month you are locked up here as G20 Prisoners. Locked up behind high walls, with the most unbelievable justifications and court orders.

Most of you don’t have a german Passport and that seems to be reason enough, in this deeply racist society, to be locked up for month with the construction of things like ‘psychological assistance’. 3 of our young companions are still locked up in the Prison for minors on the island and some are in the Pre-Trial Prison in Neustadt. Our complete support and solidarity counts also for them.

With joy we heared that Maria finaly got free, that is great but we will not be still and silent until everyone is free! We will come back to visit you every first sunday of the month.

There are many actions of solidarity for you, there is a solidarity-graffiti at the german embassy in Paris and also some windows broke there. There where Demonstration in Venice and Rome infront of the german embassys with the demand to immediately free all of you. On the 6th of August during our last visit there was a Solidarity-Manifestation in Genua on the square ‘San Lorenzo’ and another Solidarity-Manifestation in Bilbao to show support and communion with you in the Prison. On the 7th of August people gathered in Gdansk, Krakow and Warsaw infront of the german embassys to demand your freedom.

Last time you could only hear us quietly so today we will speak even louder and brought some of your favorite songs. Write into your letters what songs you want to hear, what will give you strength and will lighten up the miserable everyday life in Prison. We will organise this music, We hope you get enough letters.

We will see each other soon.
Here!
In the Court!
or on the Street!

About how to handle numbers of injured people during the G20 Protest. Statement of the Autonomous Medic-Coordination G20 (eng)

About how to handel Numbers of injured people during the G20 Protest.
Statement of the Autonomous Medic-Coordination G20 (eng)

Two weeks after G20 summit in Hamburg, a lot of things are still unclear. Also the Number of injured people. But it is not going to be possible to find out this Number, even if it would be tryed. It is simply not possible, as the Protests have been divers and restless.

The daily rising Number of injured Cops awakes the strong wish for a Counterstatement: ‘Also on the Activist Side there been this and this many injured.’

But we are not going to give in to this game. It is clear, noone knows an exact Number and it can not be the goal to invent one. To publish numbers of treatments would be misleading too. Even though many injuries where aided through our Structures, most help came from Comrades and First-Aiders in solidarity. Most injuries where treated at Home or in the next Bar.

Statement of the EA (legal team) Hamburg on 6th of August in Billwerder

(Solidarity Demonstration infront of the Prison Billwerder)

Currently there are 160 preliminary Investigations going on, 32 people are still in pre-trial Imprisonment.

Around the G20 the Police Agency acted and still acts: with political motivation, illegal, autocratic and willfully violent. Politics and Judiciary are willingly having their back.
The Police already rigurously tried to prevent the setting up of camps. Goal seemed to be that a prohibiton of sleepingplaces would demobilise and the violence used during their operations would be scaring. But this plan failed and everyone who searched for a place to sleep expirienced great solidarity.

The exaggerated operations at ‘Grüner Jäger (Arrivati-Park)’ and at other places, with more injured, got the cops critized in international media. Solidarity among each other on the streets just got bigger. However, the intensity of the Police violence grew. A peak was the attack on the ‘Welcome-to-Hell’ Demonstration: with a lot of beating, liters of Pepperspray, Watercannons and Clearing-Tanks the Cops intentionally directed a situatuon of extreme panic. In the frame of this operation several hundered where injured, a person had to be reanimated due to hittings with a police bat.

Solidarity Contribution at Demonstration to JVA Billwerder 6.8.17 (IT)

On July 7, 2017, the G20 was launched, another international summit, as many are taking place during the year when a handful of world masters meets to sit at a table, please each other sipping expensive wines, discussing about how to split the plunder of the dying planet where we all live. So it might be that in these occasions the european neo-liberal Macron shakes hands with the genocidal dicator Erdogan into a well-furnished living room while agreeing on the suppression and violent repression of migratory transit routes passing in Turkey directed to western Europe, it happens that the conservative Merkel smiles at the jokes of the racist rapist Trump as he decides on how to devastate the ecosystem and poison the atmosphere beyond the point of no return, we could see the authoritarian nationalist oligarch Putin gets a pat on the back from the puppet Gentiloni while giving some more metric cubes of methan gas in exchange for silence on the upcoming Crimea or next homophobic and homicidal law. All this happens all year round throughout the year.

“The sleep of Men is more sacred than life for the plagued; You should not stop the good people from sleeping. It would require bad taste, and good taste is to not insist, it’s something everyone knows. The bad taste remained in my mouth and I did not cease to insist, thus to think about it”

Albert Camus, The Plague

On July 7, 2017, the G20 was launched, another international summit, as many are taking place during the year when a handful of world masters meets to sit at a table, please each other sipping expensive wines, discussing about how to split the plunder of the dying planet where we all live. The Plague is spreading, while the good people sleep.

Since the revolts of Genoa, Seattle, Heiligendamm many years have passed, there is nothing to fear. That protest movement is dead, they say. The notorious ‘globalization’, which in those years was scornful of an uncertain future, is today the present, so present in our lives it’s almost impossible to imagine to live without it All we use, what we eat, what we drive or dress is produced in slavery elsewhere, by others that we do not perceive and recognize as people whose destinies are not cared for and that they can not take hold of our sleeping consciences. This time however, the world’s masters choose to meet in the center of Hamburg almost as a challenge. A city whose history is full of struggles for social justice, celebrating the autonomy of some neighborhoods with protests and riots periodically. And it is in one of those neighborhoods, the Schanzenviertel, that the powerful will meet to celebrate their farce.

Summit of resistance – Summit of repression – Solidarity is our weapon

The G20 is over, but the work is not and there is no let up.

More than 100,000 people from all different backgrounds took part and made their way to Hamburg to protest against the G20 summit. Throughout the preparation against the G20 we faced constant repression; Camps were prohibited, demonstrations banned, houses and flats raided. It came to the point that people were approached and given verbal warnings, taken into custody or even received travel restrictions. Not only before but throughout the days of protest there were unprecedented levels of repression, uncountable numbers of protesters injured by the cops, hundreds taken into custody or arrested. 36 from which are still imprisoned, most of whom travelled from other countries to take part in the protests.

Those imprisoned comrades who took to the streets with us to fight against the G20 and it’s ridiculous and inhuman policies are now in need of our support. We’re not just thinking about here and now we still await repression in the coming weeks and months and those who might be affected. Our solidarity and resistance must be diverse. We will of course need a substantial amount of money not only for the lawsuits, but also for the campaigns publicity. The support from individuals is encouraged but it’s is also important that we fight against the repression collectively! Our goal is a international far-reaching campaign in which many people can contribute.

Despite all the attempts from the media and security forces before, during and after the summit they didn’t manage to split us, we still stand together and will continue to do so together with our imprisoned comrades! The summit is over but our fight for a better world without war, exploitation, oppression and prisons goes on!
